Years ago, a friend had to flee the regime of Joh Bjelke-Petersen and seek refuge in northern NSW.

Where should those of us who despair of the cruelty and spin in Labor and Liberal camps seek asylum?

Do we take our chances with Abbott’s smugglers or risk it all on Rudd’s leaky boat? My preference is not to go down on Palmer’s Titanic or fly to Mars with the Citizens Electoral Council.

Where is there asylum from all this madness?
