Higgins’ actions led to workplace review

Dr Sarah Russell lives on the land of the Boon Wurrung/Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. She acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia, and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. Sarah pays her respects to them and their cultures, and to elders, past, present and future. The resilience and wisdom of Indigenous culture are our nation’s greatest treasure. Sovereignty was never ceded. It always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

Dr Russell remains committed to the invitation of the Uluru Statement From the Heart and its call for voice, truth and treaty. She advocated on the Mornington Peninsula for a Yes vote on the referendum for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
