After reading the heartbreaking interim report [of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety], I realise how lucky my parents were to find an age care home where the staff treated them with kindness and respect – and had time to care, chat and laugh with them, and take an interest in their lives. We found the age care home by luck. It was the only one in my parents area that allowed them to sleep together. Could the good age care providers please stand up and be counted? Now more than ever, the public needs to know you exist.
