Circle of life: events that helped to shape me

Dr Sarah Russell lives on the land of the Boon Wurrung/Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. She acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia, and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. Sarah pays her respects to them and their cultures, and to elders, past, present and future. The resilience and wisdom of Indigenous culture are our nation’s greatest treasure. Sovereignty was never ceded. It always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

Dr Russell supports the reforms called for in the Uluru Statement From the Heart – Voice, Treaty and Truth. She supports a Yes vote on the referendum for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
