We should not let Jackie Lambie off the hook for her inappropriate “well hung” comments. She should be criticised for her silly sexist remarks.
However, Kim Napier and Dave Noonan should also be rebuked for their sexist questions. Would they have asked a male politician about his relationship status and waxing habits? Men and women are judged by different standards. Peter slipper received opprobrium after comparing a woman’s genitals to shellfish. He was forced to resign. Is unlikely the Jacqui Lambie will lose her job. Rather than focus on double standards, standards need to be raised. Both male and female genitalia should remain below the belt.
